Brendan twittled his thumbs on a
boardwalk in Matley. He had grown to love the city, though he had
only been there for a short time. Slowly something crept into
Brendans mind. Like a virus. What was it? Memories of the old place.
Why did Brendan remember? He really shouldn't have. His pace sped up.
What about the cows? He stopped. Turned away. On the beach was two
kids. It was 1 am. They were brothers. He went up to the kids and
asked for their parents. The kids didn't respond. The ocean looked
like it was turning orange. The kids still didn't look, so Brendan
left. Outside it was raining cats and dogs. And I was feeling mighty
blue. But I carried on.
